5 Pirate activities to add to “Talk Like a Pirate Day”.

For those with an inner child that likes to engage in silliness, on occasion, get ready for Talk like a Pirate Day. This international fake holiday started in 2002, for the zesty, brash confidence, of the Pirates of old. Celebrated every year on September 19, so mark your calendars.

In our Gulf coast area, the most popular is Jose Gaspar, Spanish naval officer ,turned Pirate. Tampa area has Gasparilla Festival every January if you are a die hard Pirate performer, or spectator, this is the festival to plan your family vacation around.

So put a patch on your eye, buy a or make a hook at the local costume or dollar store, or just walk with a limp with a scarf on your head. It’s all in the swagger.

The Grog Off Competition~ Like a chili cook-off but in Pirate fashion. Join the AMI Privateers for this annual family friendly event. Sat.Sept 23, 2017 From 1pm to 7 pm. Food, games, raffles, kids activities and Music make this a great kickoff to fall.

Yo Ho Ho to light hearted Pirate lingo. Blimey, there are Facebook settings, to change your translations, click languages on the left sidebar, on the top selection you can opt for English (Pirate), click save and enjoy the shenanigans. Remember to reset back to english tomorrow.

Treasure hunting~You can have a family fun treasure hunt. Make a map and explore for buried treasure (that you put there ahead of time) You may rent a metal detector and scavenge the beaches also.

Have a Pirate Party~ get the kids together to decorate, make Pirate crafts and treats for a family fun festival. Make a day to remember , with foodgames, contests fun to Booty. Dress up in costume or be creative with what you have. It’s all good when you can laugh along the way especially with a Pirate Photo Booth for lasting memories.
