On the North side of Anna Maria Island is the Historic City Pier, at Bay and Pine Ave. If you are an early riser, you are in for a beautiful sunrise on the bay. As you stroll the boardwalk, notice the shorebirds foraging their morning snack. Join the fishermen, arriving early to the pier, competing for the prized catch, sharing their treasured advice. The pier does sell daily fishing passes,( for a few dollars) if you need a license.
Shop for handcrafted jewelry, fossils and postcards, for that special someone at home. The outdoor bar offers refreshments and ice cream for a quick fix, and the Pier dining has a full coastal and american menu, if you came to enjoy a meal with waterfront view.
Many of our guests join the locals, at the dockside pub for live music and cheerful camaraderie. Stay for sunset and enjoy the Bay breezes as the sky fills with colorful bliss.
The pier is a main hub for the Free Trolley, which will wait for 3 minutes for shoppers to hop on and tour the rest of the island, or take you back to your vacation rental home. Across the road is the Bayside Plaza, with clothing boutiques, gifts, souvenirs, Confections,and ice cream. A short stroll to several fine restaurants, and Pine Ave shopping.
