The Ultimate Guide to the Anna Maria Island Trolley

Anna Maria Island is the ultimate Florida vacation destination: fun in the sun on the white sand beaches, mouthwatering seafood at family-friendly local restaurants, and unique boutiques to finish your souvenir shopping.

If you don’t want to walk everywhere or drive your car, not to worry! The Anna Maria Island trolley makes it easy to navigate the seven-mile stretch of the island.

Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of the service while you’re staying in one of our Anna Maria Island rentals.

About

The Anna Maria Island trolley is a free service that makes it easy to travel around the island in a snap. There are tons of trolley stops throughout AMI (about every two to four blocks), but the three main stops are at Coquina Beach, Manatee Public Beach, and the Anna Maria City Pier. While you can explore Anna Maria Island on the trolley for free, you can also pay a small fee if you would like to stay on the trolley into Sarasota.

This trolley is a great way for the entire family to get around the island while enjoying the Anna Maria Island weather. It’s a family-friendly and safe way to travel, so everyone in your group can pile on. Just make sure to keep your children close at all times! While the trolley is free, donations are always accepted and appreciated. When you hop on, be sure to keep all your belongings close at hand, and if you have a bicycle, stow it on the convenient racks on the outside of the trolley.

The service is available every single day of the year, so no matter when you visit, you’ll have affordable and reliable transportation. The trolley runs daily from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. and stops as frequently as every 20 minutes. Wherever you are on the island, you’ll never have to wait too long for a ride! At the major stops, the trolley will wait up to three minutes before moving on, giving all guests an ample opportunity to board or disembark.
