Sandwiched between the intercostal waterway and the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico, Indian Shores has a welcoming, friendly feel and offers the best of all worlds! Only an hour’s drive from Tampa and about 45 minutes from Clearwater, you’re close enough to see all that the big cities have to offer (including hundreds of shopping locations, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Busch Gardens, baseball spring training and games, and more!), while being close enough to the water that you can always feel the sea breezes. If you like the shopping experience without the drive or traffic, you can head a little ways south to John’s Pass, with a variety of gift and specialty shops, restaurants, options for dolphin watching and shelling tours, and more. Island Marine Rentals offers boats, kayaks, paddleboards, scooters, and bikes for rental at good prices with great customer service.

For those nights when you just want some Italian comfort food, try Original Pizza and Restaurant. It’s family-operated and delicious! Slyce in Indian Rocks Beach (right next door to Indian Shores) takes pizza to the next level with modern décor and a large bar (but keeps a family-friendly atmosphere). Indian Shores Coffee has the cool vibes of a WiFi café with occasional live music and quality organic drinks but doesn’t lose the Florida feel. For somewhere the whole family will enjoy with a wide variety of seafood and American menu choices, try The Original Crabby Bill’s. If you have a more refined palate, or just want to try something new and delicious, Guppy’s on the Beach has an ever-changing menu and a laid-back feel with excellent, chef-designed menu choices. Tropical Ice Cream offers a wide variety of flavors to satisfy any sweet tooth, as does Sweet IRB. If you want to work off some of it, try Smuggler’s Cove Adventure Golf for a fun, tourist-approved family or date night activity. For some of the best breakfast on the central Gulf coast, try Sweet Sage Café in North Redington Beach or Maggie Mae’s Sunrise Cafe in Sand Key (both are a quick drive from Indian Shores).
