Thanks to the annual Celtic Beach Cookout, all you need is a trip to the Florida Gulf Coast in August to get a little bit of that Scotch action.
New World Celts
The event is hosted by the New World Celts – Sarasota whose mission is to “promote Celtic traditions and heritage.”
According to its website, New World Celts – Sarasota is:
committed to presenting the finest in Celtic culture, heritage, crafts and other activities to its patrons. By sponsoring a site, a stage, an event or activity at our Celtic Heritage events, our partners associate themselves with wholesome, family oriented activities, in celebration of the community. With an experienced cadre of dedicated volunteers, our operational goals focus on presenting our partners in a positive public manner.
Most notably, the group offers scholarships to local Celtic artists.
Kilts on Coquina Beach

Join the New World Celts Sarasota for their annual Celtic Beach Cookout. Wear your favorite kilt and bring your bathing suits. The pavilion is close to the restrooms and beach!!
We will provide burgers & hotdogs. The grills will be hot so bring your own items to grill if you like. Please bring a side dish and desert to share with others!! Bring your own items to drink as well. (This is a public park so all rules apply.)
Celtic acoustical instruments and musicians are welcome. Bagpipes/drums & Celtic dancers too!!
